About the Position

Job Title: RN PACU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: PACU Duration: 8 weeks Shift: 09:00-17:00 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Registered Nurse Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS Must-Have: At least 1-year experience in PACU, ICU, or ER. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit. The PACU consists of 11 bays and 6 operating rooms. Staffing varies according to the surgery schedule, typically one RN per OR. The traveler’s shift may vary from 09:00 to 22:00. During the day shift, there is one charge nurse and one RN per running OR. Night shift includes on-call duties starting at 19:00. Patient ratios are 1:1. The unit utilizes standard PACU equipment and the EMR system Epic. There are on-call requirements of 4 call shifts per 4-week scheduling period. Each call shift counts whether it is from 07:00 to 19:00 or from 19:00 to 07:00. Weekend requirements consist solely of on-call shifts, as the operating rooms are closed on weekends. Common procedures performed in the unit include orthopedic, gynecological, ENT, and general surgeries. The ideal candidate is a team player, self-motivated, and maintains a drama-free work environment.
