Job Title Clinical Therapist Department Student Life | Counseling and Consultation Location Younkin Success Center (0052) Position Type Regular Hours Scheduled Hours: 40, Shift: First Shift Responsibilities Establish and maintain service presence within the College of Engineering, including networking and marketing service availability, assessing and addressing stigma and barriers to seeking services, and collaborating with administration, faculty, and staff to meet clinical and programmatic needs of students. Provide individual, couples and group counseling to university students; deliver diagnostic assessment and psychotherapeutic services addressing stress, developmental issues, career, academics, interpersonal concerns, and other mental health issues. Conduct and evaluate psychoeducational workshop programs. Train and supervise graduate students in psychology, social work, counselor education, or related fields. Research student needs and develop and evaluate programs. Participate in professional development and continuing education activities and consult with university personnel. Serve as consultant to the university regarding college students' mental health issues, planning and implementing preventive psychoeducational programs, maintaining liaisons with campus units, and participating in agency planning and management. Perform related duties as required. Required Qualifications Doctoral Degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, or Master’s Degree in Counselor Education, Social Work, Counseling or related field. State of Ohio licensure in professional discipline required (Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, or Licensed Psychologist). Independent licensure in the State of Ohio within 4 months of hire. 1 year of relevant experience required; 2‑4 years preferred. Desired Qualifications Strong interest in candidates who have a LISW, LPCC or IMFT within 4 months of hire. Considerable clinical casework experience in therapy and crisis management. Supervised internship or work equivalent in a university counseling center, mental health agency, or related professional setting. Experience providing psychotherapy, diagnostic assessment, and outreach.
