Imagine walking through stores and seeing our labels on your favorite products and brands!Compensation for Finishing Operator will be based on the skills and experiences you bring to Smyth.Shift available: 2nd Shift, 2:20pm – 12:20am Monday through Thursday (40 hours). Overtime is paid after 40 hours; typical OT available is at least one shift per month.Key Responsibilities for Finishing Operator Include:Setting up, running, and maintaining a finishing equipment in an efficient and timely mannerCarefully and thoroughly inspecting completed label material for errors and defectsIdentifying, recommending, and implementing areas for lean improvement/modificationPerforming work based on instructions and priorities assigned by the supervisorPreparing and maintaining appropriate documentation for assigned tasksPerforming preventative maintenance tasks to ensure the reliability of the equipmentThe Ideal Finishing Operator Candidate Must Demonstrate:Attention to detail, effective time management, and multi-tasking skills to meet deadlines on multiple long and short-term projects simultaneouslyAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, as well as read a rulerSelf-motivation, being able to work with little supervision at timesExcellent interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with a diverse group of people and personalitiesAbility to provide a high level of customer service, responding promptly and thoroughly to the inquiries and needs of individuals both internal and external to the organizationEducation, Skills, and Experience for Finishing Operator:Required: High school diploma or equivalent; computer skills/knowledgeRequired: Can perform heavy work, lifting up to 100 pounds, frequent pushing and pulling heavy items, often lifting/carrying objects weighing up to 100 poundsRequired: Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions in the English languageRequired: Ability and willingness to learn and master new skills.Preferred: Experience working with lean manufacturing
