Registered Nurse - Night Nurse (Academic Year),

Job Responsibilities

Provides nursing assessments, treatments, medication, and medical care to all students as needed for routine and acute visits. Maintains satisfactory medical records by recording and reporting of student symptoms, reactions, and progress through analysis of student records, reports pertinent medical information regarding students to the school physician and/or Nursing Administrator. Dispenses medication and other treatments necessary, including arranging appointments and follow up visits with the school's Medical Director and/or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Prepares medications and paperwork for field trips and delegates the administration of medication when appropriate and as allowed by the state law to an approved Unlicensed Assistive Personnel.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Graduation from an accredited nursing program (Associates Degree or Bachelor's Degree required). Must have current SC RN Licensure issued by the State Board of Nursing and three years of full-time professional nursing experience. Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of nursing; the ability to supervise and delegate work to subordinates; the ability to follow detailed instructions of a technical nature; ability to prepare and present educational programs to non-medical and medical personnel; and must be able to make decisions and perform work independently. Must also have basic computer literacy skills. Requires considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of nursing in accordance with accepted and prevailing nursing standards in the industry. Must also be able to practice in accordance with safety standards for the professional nursing industry. This position may require communication modalities dependent upon employment placement.

This position serves our Residential students who come in on Tuesday and depart on Friday.
