Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in Neuro ICU or comprehensive stroke center License: Active state RN license or compact license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Must have 2 years of Neuro ICU experience and/or 2 years of comprehensive stroke center experience in a large hospital. - Must have at least 2 years of nursing experience. - Epic charting experience is required. - Must be able to work a minimum of every other holiday. Description: Winter jobs available! 13- or 18-week contract opportunities offered. The position is in a fast-paced ICU treating neurological diseases and disorders, including seizures and strokes. The facility is a comprehensive stroke center and also treats overflow ICU patients from other units. Candidates will be required to float to various units as necessary based on staffing needs. Travelers must be available to work every other weekend and holiday. Unit provides interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and more. Daily census for the unit averages 28 patients, with a total of 36 beds. Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Common patient diagnoses include ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, seizures, and neuromuscular disorders. Bedside procedures performed include EVD placements, endoscopies, bronchoscopy, trach and G-tube placements, and central and arterial line placements. Candidates must be comfortable adapting to varying assignments and patient needs. Candidates will be responsible for managing high acuity patients with complex medical needs.
