Emergency Room Nurse

Job Summary The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes. Responsibilities Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention. Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner. Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate patient needs proactively. Teach patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Translate complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding. Teach non-medicinal follow-up measures such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and other lifestyle changes. Prepare patients and families/caregivers for future self-management. Qualifications Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date. Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date. Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date (RN). Registered Nurse (RN) with an Associate Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma. No travel required. No experience required.
