Your responsibilities will include repairing broken lines through the replacement of sections or the installation of repair clamps, ensuring the reliability of our water services. This position demands physical stamina, as you'll perform heavy manual labor related to the repair, maintenance, and construction of water and sewer lines and their associated components.Additionally, you'll dig trenches and lay sewer pipes and water lines, actively contributing to essential projects that strengthen our community. Proficiency in operating a backhoe in confined spaces and under challenging conditions is also vital.Moreover, possessing the ability to detect leaks, stoppages, and malfunctions in water mains and sewer lines, along with being able to determine the most efficient repair methods, will contribute significantly to your success in this role and ensure the reliable operation of essential services.Knowledge and skills required for the position are:Knowledge on the methods, materials, equipment and techniques used in the extension repair and maintenance of the water distribution system and sanitary sewer system.Knowledge of the occupational hazards involved and the necessary safety precautions.
