2nd Shift Supervisor

Job Summary:
The Production Supervisor will oversee and manage production shift employees and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and quantity standards.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Trains and manages production employees on the assigned shift.
• Oversees the daily workflow and assignments of the production shift.
• Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Oversees production operations on assigned shift.
• Prepares work schedules to ensure efficient operations.
• Maintains knowledge of processes and equipment.
• Ensures that products are identified, weighed, and warehoused correctly.
• Troubleshoots issues that arise.
• Notifies maintenance department of equipment problems.
• Ensures that employees comply with applicable safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Ensures paperwork is completed and signed correctly.
• Maintain a safe work environment.
• Implement production plan.
• Proactive towards upcoming schedules for possible issues.
• Monitor quality.
• Disciplinary action as required utilizing employee handbook guidelines.
• Perform reviews of probationary employees and temps.
• Interview/select operator candidates.
• Maximize production and improve machine efficiency.
• Respond to production and material handling issues.
• Be recognized and trained as an emergency responder.
• Initiate, maintain, and support company policies.
• Initiate and support cost savings initiatives, plant safety goals, and waste reduction goals.
• Conduct periodic good manufacturing practices (GMP) inspections.
• Foster a positive work culture.
• Drive production numbers.
• Sign off on changeovers and verify that correct materials are being used.
• Communicate crews needs/desires to upper management.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of Supervisory experience in manufacturing.
• 2+ years of mechanical knowledge with converting machines.

Physical Requirements: 
• Must be able to traverse the production facility.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
