We have an opening in our Mortise Lock Engineering Team for a motivated Designer to collaborate with the engineers on CAD modelling, drawing creation, PDM coordination and processing engineering change requests. This position will be located onsite full-time in our Berlin, CT facility. This position will report to the Mechanical Team Lead of our Electro-Mechanical Access Control platform.What you will be doing:Product Design – Conceptual designs using 3D modeling and 2D drawing developmentWork closely with Engineers in developing 3D model concepts and 2D layoutsProcess Engineering Change Notices (EN's) and release drawingsPart, sub-assembly and assembly drawing creation using standardized formatsMaintain Engineering documentation and electronic system (PDM/PLM experience preferred)Assist Purchasing with documentation requests to ensure vendors are receiving accurate product documentationStay current with engineering software, coordinate and recommend upgrades as necessaryWork closely with database maintenance personnel to assist in the accuracy of product structures within the MRP system and product configuratorAssist in product testingMiscellaneous email correspondence, document control, etc.What we are looking for:An Associate's degree in an Engineering discipline preferredThree (3) years product designing experience in a manufacturing company preferredTraining in CAD (SolidWorks preferred)Training in PDM/PLM (Teamcenter preferred)Training in ERP/MRP (JDE preferred)Experience reading and implementing GD&TGood communication skills both verbal and writtenWell organized and highly motivatedWhat we Offer!We believe in creating opportunities and providing benefits that empower you to grow, thrive, and build a rewarding lifelong career with us.
