Civil Estimator/Project Manager

Job Title: Civil Estimator/Project ManagerJob Location: Denver, COBase Salary: $130K-$160KRequirements: 5+ years of Civil Estimating and Project Management on wet utility construction projects. Position Overview:We are seeking an experienced Civil Estimator / Project Manager to lead cost estimating and manage the delivery of municipal and site civil projects including sewer, water, storm, utilities, grading, and earthwork. This role will produce accurate estimates and bids, develop project budgets and schedules, and oversee construction execution to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining strong client and subcontractor relationships.Key Responsibilities:Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and accurate cost estimates for civil projects (sewer, water, storm drains, utilities, grading, earthwork).Develop competitive, timely bid packages and proposals including scope definitions, assumptions, and contingency analysis.Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids; negotiate prices and manage subcontractor scope and contracts.Create and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and progress reports; track costs and change orders to protect project margins.Develop and maintain realistic project schedules; coordinate resources and sequencing to meet milestones and client expectations.Collaborate with engineers, superintendents, clients, and permitting agencies to clarify scope, resolve design issues, and ensure compliance with specifications.Perform site visits and pre-bid/site reconnaissance to validate quantities, site conditions, and logistic constraints.Oversee construction execution as Project Manager: monitor quality, safety, and productivity; resolve field issues and coordinate corrective actions.Prepare and manage change orders, claims documentation, and contract closeouts; ensure accurate record-keeping and project documentation.Mentor and train junior estimators and project staff; contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes, templates, and best practices.Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Technology, or equivalent experience preferred.Minimum 5+ years of combined civil estimating and project management experience on municipal/site civil work (sewer, water, stormwater, utilities, grading, earthwork).Proven experience preparing detailed estimates, quantity takeoffs, bid packages, and managing change orders.Proficiency with estimating software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, HCSS, PlanSwift or similar), advanced Excel skills; familiarity with AutoCAD/Civil 3D is a plus.Strong knowledge of unit pricing, production rates, material & labor pricing, and subcontractor procurement.Excellent project management skills: scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and field coordination.BenefitsMedical VisionDental 401(K)BonusAnd More!
