About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Med Surg/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years required License: Active Ohio/OH or Compact RN License Certifications: Active American Heart Association BLS, Active American Heart Association ACLS Must-Have: Must be competent with cardiac medications including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Heparin, Cardine, Dobutamine, Lasix, Bumex. Must be competent in telemetry and possess knowledge of heart rhythms. Must possess critical thinking skills and be able to recognize changes in patient status and intervene. Must possess knowledge of signs and symptoms of stroke, as well as the ability to recognize changes in patient status and intervene. Must have strong communication skills. Description: Functioning within the mission, vision, and values, the Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of assigned patients on their shift. The RN's responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care using age-specific criteria. Judgments are made based on scientific knowledge and clinical skills. The RN also assists in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff such as LPNs, PCTs, and Unit Secretaries.
