Job Title: Juice Bar Manager Department: Juice Bar Reports To: Manager of Perishables FLSA Status: Nonexempt Summary This is a management position. The Juice Bar Manager must have the necessary confidence, commitment, and motivation to move their staff and themselves toward success. They must be enthusiastic, have strong communication skills, and extraordinary people skills. He/she must know how to keep morale high among the Juice Bar department staff, serve the customers to develop and retain repeat business, keep the Juice Bar department clean and up to par with Bristol Farms/Lazy Acres standards, and create an environment that’s welcoming, warm, and friendly. Key traits and skills include strong leadership, good listening, applied empathy; they must be self‑motivated, decisive, observant, flexible, supportive, and possess a strong sense of urgency in all duties. They should also be open to growth and expansion. The Juice Bar Manager is responsible for the supervision and coordination of activities of the Juice Bar department staff. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, directing work; staff development; performance reviews; schedule writing; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; and resolving problems. Additional duties may be assigned. Leads by example; models correct behavior and adherence to company policies. Responsible for using the tools provided by management to ensure department success. Required to perform all essential duties of a Juice Bar Clerk. Operates a cash register following established policies. Accurately records customer transactions and balances the cash register. Assigns duties and examines work for compliance with policies. Knowledgeable of product sold in the Juice Bar and educates customers on preparation. Responsible for ordering, receiving, and merchandising. Receives merchandise, verifies against purchase order, and reports damaged or shorted items. Prepares weekly and daily work schedules; directs employee activities. Writes schedules fairly and objectively. Manages labor costs, overtime, and supply costs. Packages, displays, and merchandises all Juice Bar goods. Prices merchandise with handheld scanner; verifies price against purchase order. Reports price discrepancies and “not on file” items. Implements and maintains all marketing programs. Trains staff in product knowledge, suggestive selling, merchandising, and customer service. Maintains profit margin according to approved budget. Conducts inventories and prepares inventory results. Maintains inventory control to reduce theft, shrink, and waste. Maintains price integrity and proper weights and measures per California State Laws. Sanitizes equipment, counters, display cases, and floors. Ensures quality and sanitation per FDA, local health codes, and Bristol Farms/Lazy Acres standards. Knows and properly uses all cleaning chemicals authorized in the Juice Bar Department. Trains employees on cleaning chemical usage. Follows FIFO rotation system to maintain freshness and reduce shrink. Reports safety hazards to Manager of Perishables or Store Director. Documents meetings, memos, postings, and obtains employee signatures as required. Enforces company customer service policies and guidelines. Serves customers with a smile and willingness; builds relationships for repeat business. Listens to customer complaints, examines returned merchandise, and resolves problems. Availability includes days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional overnight shifts. Always meets and exceeds Bristol Farms/Lazy Acres standards in service, appearance, quality, cleanliness, and leadership. Supervisory Responsibilities The Juice Bar Manager oversees overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Juice Bar department. Responsibilities include training and developing employees; scheduling; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; and resolving problems. Customer Service Skills The Juice Bar Manager is expected to provide customer service that is extra ordinary and exceeds customer expectations. They follow established policies and guidelines beyond simply smiling and greeting. They exhibit a positive can‑do attitude, treat others with respect, and adapt to workplace changes. Education and/or Experience High School diploma or GED; college degree preferred; two to three years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. Mathematical Skills Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, and volume. Ability to add, subtract, divide, and multiply using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to resolve conflicts to create win‑win situations. Ability to analyze situations, think through solutions, and implement solutions. Physical Demands Stand for long periods, walk, use hands frequently, reach with hands and arms. Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
