Patient Care Coordinator - Healthcare Front Desk

Location: Clinton Township, MI

Join a growing healthcare organization in a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility in Clinton Township! We are looking for a friendly, professional, and customer-focused individual to serve as the first point of contact for patients and customers.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has experience in customer service, healthcare, insurance, or medical office settings.

• Greet patients and visitors in a welcoming and professional manner.
• Answer incoming calls and assist customers with questions regarding insurance coverage, product eligibility, costs, appointments, and services.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate calendars for clinical staff.
• Verify insurance information and obtain necessary authorizations and referrals.
• Process orders and maintain accurate order status updates within the computer system.
• File customer orders, medical records, and other documentation.
• Prepare documents for imaging and record management.
• Assist with patient check-in and discharge processes.
• Provide exceptional service to patients of all ages in a busy walk-in and appointment-based environment.

This location specializes in prosthetics, orthotics, and mastectomy products. Patients may be dealing with significant health challenges, so compassion, patience, and professionalism are essential. The office sees approximately 30 patients per day and offers a mix of phone-based customer service and administrative/front desk responsibilities.

• Monday - Thursday: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• Friday: 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM

• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Positive, friendly, and professional demeanor.
• Ability to handle sensitive or challenging patient interactions with empathy and professionalism.
• Basic computer proficiency and the ability to learn new software systems.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to retain processes.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
• Professional appearance.

• Medical, healthcare, or insurance customer service experience.
• Insurance verification experience.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, HAP, Blue Cross, or Medicare Advantage plans.
• Durable Medical Equipment (DME) industry experience.
• Face-to-face customer service experience in a healthcare or service environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mt Clemens, MI.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
