Credit Assistant Saraland, AL | $15.48 per hour Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. | Temp-to-Perm Long’s Human Resource Services is seeking a detail-oriented Credit Assistant for a company in Saraland. This position supports the Credit Department with customer account inquiries, payment processing, order coordination, and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, professional telephone communication, and a high level of accuracy when handling financial information. Responsibilities Answer incoming credit calls and assist customers with statements, payments, billing, adjustments, and account questions Manage Cash Before Delivery (CBD) accounts, calculate order totals and freight charges, and communicate payment requirements Receive, record, and apply payments; process credit card and ACH transactions Coordinate rush orders and release pending orders according to payment requirements and company procedures Set up new customer accounts and maintain accurate records Assist with past-due account collections and document customer communications Obtain trade references, credit reports, and proof of delivery to support Credit Analysts Submit invoice discrepancy claims and coordinate follow-up Prepare correspondence, proforma invoices, credit references, and other departmental documents Protect confidential customer financial information Maintain a calm, professional approach when resolving difficult customer concerns Qualifications High school diploma Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, plus internet navigation Strong communication, listening, and telephone skills Ability to organize multiple priorities and respond promptly to customer inquiries Accurate math, spelling, data entry, and business writing skills Experience working with customers in a professional setting Dependable attendance and commitment to confidentiality
