Postdoctoral Associate, Pharmacy

Overview Dr. Yanan Zhao’s laboratory in the Department of Pharmacy, School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, seeks a Postdoctoral Associate to assist with laboratory research, publications, and grant proposals. Responsibilities Conduct research and perform laboratory tasks and experiments under direct supervision. Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data, and prepare detailed reports summarizing observations and conclusions. Present research findings in internal and external forums, including scientific conferences, lab meetings, and seminars. Contribute to manuscript preparation and grant applications, as appropriate. Perform other duties as assigned, including teaching and training students and participating in related projects. Qualifications Doctoral degree (MD, PharmD, or PhD) in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Immunology, Cell Biology, Biomedical/Chemical Engineering, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Clinical Diagnostics, Veterinary Sciences, or a related field. Preferred Qualifications Strong background in microbiology, including experience with bacterial and/or fungal culture, antibiotic susceptibility testing, rapid molecular detection, and related laboratory techniques. Proficiency in developing and running BSL2 small animal infection models for bacterial and fungal pathogens. Proficiency in mammalian cell culture, microscopy imaging, flow cytometry, and other techniques related to molecular microbiology and immunology. Proven track record of scholarly productivity, demonstrated by at least one first‑author publication in a high‑impact journal and additional co‑authored publications in relevant journals.
