The Manager in Training is responsible for helping the Branch Manager in day-to- day operations. The position works closely with the Branch Manager in preparing and organizing the completion of daily work and the management of the Technical and Marketing Departments. The Manager in Training must have excellent management skills such as problem solving, communication, leadership, time management and team building. Every task contributes towards the overall goal of delivering a great service to our customers, by a well-trained staff of lawn technicians in a timely and cost-effective manner. Responsibilities and Duties
- Ensures a safe workplace is provided for all employees by ongoing training
- Quality Control compliance to ensure service standards are met according to
- Plan and conduct new hire and on-going training for lawn service personnel
- Effectively coach, train and develop future leaders within department
- Work with administration and management team to facilitate recruiting,
- Daily, Weekly and Monthly tracking of all goals established in the Business
- Manage progressive discipline and accountability standards consistent with
- Conduct Performance Reviews
- Effectively partner with your peers as a resource to help in their goal
- Conduct Daily and Weekly Production department meetings
- Conduct Pre/Post trip vehicle inspections
- Ensures current licensing is maintained by all department employees as
- Help Recruit and train Door Knockers for our Marketing Season
- Excellent leadership skills in team building, selecting talent, training,
- Excellent time management skills
- Practical knowledge of lawn service industry and experience in developing
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of leadership and with front
- Ability to have difficult conversations
- Great Self-Awareness
- Mechanical aptitude a plus, but not required
- Business process analysis skills
- Computer skills with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook,
- Have 1-2 or more years of related experience in
- Certificates, Licenses and registrations as required by federal and state law.
- Valid, permanent driver's license from state of residence and a clean driving
- Sit or stand
- Walk on uneven surfaces or climb stairs for an extended period of time
- Use hands and arms to handle, feel or reach
- Speak and hear
- Use vision abilities for close, distance, color, peripheral, depth and focus
- Lift up to 50lbs independently
- Push and pull equipment
- Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Be subjected to outdoor weather conditions which may include cold,
- Be subjected to exposure to animals and insects
- Be regularly exposed to chemicals using appropriate safety equipment
- Occasionally work near mechanical or moving parts
- Driver's License
- Pesticide Licensing, as required by law
- Management: 1-2+ years
