Senior Data Analyst

Position Summary We are looking for a contract Senior Data Analyst to join a project that is projected to run through the end of the year. In this role, you will be responsible for analytic data needs, handling complex data projects. What will your job entail? *This is a contract/temporary role that will be tentatively running through the remainder of this year* Key Responsibilities Analyze, extract, transform, and reconcile large, complex datasets across multiple internal systems and external data sources. Provide analytical support for operational areas including claims, policy, client, and underwriting data. Identify trends, anomalies, risks, and improvement opportunities through data analysis; clearly communicate findings and recommended actions to leadership. Develop, maintain, and automate recurring and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and management deliverables. Model and analyze data using SQL, Excel, Access, and enterprise data warehouse tools. Build and maintain data visualizations and dashboards using tools such as Power BI and Tableau. Perform data quality audits and validation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with federal and state reporting requirements. Support data systems as a functional administrator, including testing, evaluating, and implementing new system releases and enhancements. Participate in project implementations, including requirements gathering, testing, and deployment support. Mentor and train junior Data Analysts on tools, reporting standards, and best practices. Perform additional duties as assigned. Required Experience & Education Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, Business, Statistics) or equivalent practical experience. Minimum of 2+ years of experience in data analysis, statistical analysis, IT analytics, data warehouse, or ETL-related work. Experience supporting or leading data-related projects or system implementations. Hands-on experience building dashboards and data visualizations using SQL-based datasets. Proficiency in at least one coding language such as Python or R . Experience analyzing underwriting or insurance-related data strongly preferred. Preferred Certifications Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300) – preferred Tableau Certified Data Analyst – preferred Technical Skills SQL (advanced querying, joins, aggregations) Data Warehousing & ETL Pipelines Data Modeling & Data Governance Business Intelligence & Analytics Data Visualization & Dashboard Development Power BI Tableau Ad Hoc & Automated Reporting Coding (Python, R) Behavioral & Professional Skills Analytical and critical thinking Strong problem-solving skills Clear and effective communication (technical and non-technical audiences) Time management and ability to prioritize multiple workstreams Organizational skills with strong attention to detail Customer-focused mindset and stakeholder collaboration Ryan Specialty is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
