Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Level IV Trauma Emergency Department treating an average of 40–60 patients per day across a 14-bed unit with 2 trauma bays and a 3-room Fast Track area.
• Perform triage in designated triage rooms following facility policies and procedures, as authorized after orientation review.
• Manage a patient assignment with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3–4, with adjusted staffing during overnight hours; rotate variable shift start times as scheduled.
• Care for a diverse patient population including traumas, MVAs, hunting-related injuries, and agricultural emergencies, as well as patients requiring transfer for STEMI and stroke care.
• Collaborate with ED physicians (24/7 in-house), mid-level providers, respiratory therapy, phlebotomy, and ancillary support staff including CNAs, medics, and LPNs.
• Float to inpatient areas to provide helping-hands support as needed; adhere to facility clock-in/clock-out requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license — must be in hand at time of submission.
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience.
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required.
• Ability to rotate variable shift start times and work every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday).
• Willingness to meet holiday coverage requirements as outlined by the facility.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience managing variable IV drips in an emergency care setting.
• Comfort working in a rural or critical access emergency environment with a broad patient acuity mix.
• First-time travelers and duo submissions are welcome to apply.
