Supply Chain Analyst InternThe Supply Chain Analyst Intern at Asphalt Materials Inc. (AMI) contributes to the day-to-day operations of supply chain and procurement function, gaining hands-on experience across purchasing, logistics, compliance, and vendor coordination. This role will provide meaningful exposure to multiple lines of business and the opportunity to apply analytical and communication skills to real-world supply chain challenges. The ideal candidate is curious, detail-oriented, and eager to build foundational supply chain expertise in a dynamic industrial environment.Essential Functions:Supports the development of proposals, bids, and purchase requests, contributing to accurate and timely documentation across supply chain operationsSupports and maintains tracking and communication processes for trucking, rail, and purchasing activities, improving visibility and coordination across logistics channelsContributes to the implementation of purchasing strategies for chemicals, raw materials, and trucking by applying analytical tools to evaluate cost, supplier options, and market conditionsGains cross-functional exposure to multiple AMI lines of business, building foundational knowledge of supply chain operations, vendor relationships, and procurement workflowsDrives compliance project completion by utilizing Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions, to organize, analyze, and present data accurately and timelyBuilds and maintains positive, professional relationships with internal team members, vendors, and cross-functional partners to support a collaborative and productive work environmentAdditional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company's core values, competencies, and skills.Education Qualification:Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field requiredExperience Qualification:Prior coursework, project work, or internship experience in supply chain, business analytics, logistics, or a related field preferredWorking Conditions/Physical Demands:Work is primarily performed in an office or professional setting using standard business equipment, including computers, monitors, keyboards, phones, printers, and filing systemsWork is generally performed during standard business hours in alignment with the internship schedule; occasional extended hours may be required to meet project or team deadlinesMinimal travel expected; occasional travel for team meetings, site visits, or company events may be requiredWork involves extended periods of sitting at a desk, viewing computer screens, performing data entry, and using keyboards and office equipment throughout the workdayOccasional lifting, carrying, or moving of files, documents, or materials weighing up to approximately 10 poundsSkills and Abilities:Knowledge of procurement processes, supply chain operations, and vendor coordination concepts, including purchasing, logistics, compliance tracking, and bid developmentAbility to use Microsoft Office Suite tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and WordAbility to follow instructions, prioritize assigned work, and collaborate effectively with internal team members, vendors, and cross-functional partners across multiple lines of businessStrong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally and clearly in a business setting and contribute effectively to team meetings and project updatesDemonstrated attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing, entering, and organizing data and documentation in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentWillingness to learn, curiosity, and a proactive approach to building supply chain knowledge and contributing meaningfully to team goals throughout the internshipAbout Asphalt Materials, Inc.Asphalt Materials, Inc. is a privately held, family-owned business headquartered in Indianapolis.
