The Manufacturing Automation team is responsible for the design, integration, and deployment of automated manufacturing systems across Anduril factories. As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to help define what production automation looks like for Anduril at a national scale.WHAT YOU’LL DODevelop automated solutions to production processes in partnership with design and manufacturing teams, from concept through productionDrive design for manufacturing and design for assembly (DFM/DFA), using automation fundamentals, to develop products ready for high rate production.Conduct automation audit of current production capabilities to identify opportunities for improvement in throughput, quality, cost, and safetyDesign, develop, and implement robust, efficient, and high-quality automated manufacturing processesSpecify, design, procure, and validate tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing equipment to support process requirementsDevelop manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and control plansConduct root cause analysis for manufacturing defects, non-conformances, or process inefficiencies, and implement effective corrective and preventive actionsEvaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and automation methodologiesManage projects related to manufacturing process improvement, automation, and capacity expansionProvide technical support to production teams and train personnel on new processes and equipmentSet automation process standards and DFM/DFA best practices across programsDrive factory-wide continuous improvement strategy and mentor and develop engineersREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field12+ years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering, with a focus on automationExperience with CAD/CAM software, preferably NX or similarStrong DFM/DFA knowledge and experience applying it to automated productionFamiliarity with automated manufacturing technologies (robotics, CNC machining, additive manufacturing, automated inspection)Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentStrong communication and teamwork skillsTrack record of leading end-to-end automated process development across multiple production linesExperience integrating automation, robotics, or advanced metrology (e.g., CMM, optical scanning) into manufacturing workflowsExperience defining process and DFM/DFA standards and mentoring engineersMust be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilitiesPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS15+ years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering with a focus on automationExperience integrating automation, robotics, or advanced metrology systems (e.g., CMM, optical scanning) into manufacturing workflowsExperience designing and fabricating tooling, jigs, and fixturesExperience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologiesOwned end-to-end equipment development and implementationUS Salary Range$166,000—$220,000 USDThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
