Adjunct Instructor/Technical Specialist- Other Specialized Areas

Job Overview This position comprises adjunct faculty duties and technical specialist responsibilities. Adjunct Faculty : primary duties include teaching courses in the approved discipline, providing instruction that facilitates student acquisition of learning outcomes, and mentoring students inside and outside the classroom. The adjunct creates and maintains an effective learning environment in face‑to‑face, hybrid, online, or dual‑credit modalities. Technical Specialist : duties related to administrative, instructional/academic, or student support programs. Tasks are non‑routine and predominantly original and creative. Minimal supervision is required. All members are expected to adhere to college policies and procedures. Responsibilities Primary duties of adjunct faculty include teaching courses in the approved discipline, providing instruction that facilitates student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes, and mentoring students in and outside the classroom. The adjunct faculty member creates and maintains an effective learning environment in face‑to‑face, hybrid, online, or dual‑credit contexts. Qualifications Adjunct faculty must possess a Southern Association of Colleges and Schools credential standard for faculty teaching workforce certificate or degree completion courses, demonstrating an appropriate academic degree and demonstrated competencies. Associate degree and/or 2–5 years work experience in the field of study. Bachelor's degree and/or 6–10 years work experience in the field of study. Master's degree and/or 11–15 years work experience in the field of study. Doctorate degree and/or 16+ years work experience in the field of study. Required Experience Professional teaching experience in face‑to‑face, hybrid, online, and dual‑credit courses. Experience designing instructional materials that achieve specific learning objectives. Experience communicating effectively with students, faculty, and non‑faculty personnel. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to instruct across multiple modalities; create a professional and effective learning environment; communicate effectively; treat all persons with respect, dignity and justice without discrimination; exercise highest professional and ethical standards in the use of college time and resources; observe college policies and procedures. Security and Eligibility Requirements Position is security sensitive and requires a satisfactory criminal history background check.
