Ophthalmology Medical Director
Emergency Medicine Physician
Compensation: $475,000 per year
Job Type: Full-Time | Three 10-hour shifts — 6a–4p, 1p–11p, 4p–2a; 15 shifts/month

We have partnered closely with a premier regional healthcare facility to recruit a full-time, Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) Emergency Medicine Physician . Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality emergency medical care to patients within a modern, 32-bed Emergency Department.
- Manage a highly comfortable patient pace averaging fewer than two encounters per hour.
- Collaborate seamlessly with a second on-duty physician, maintaining double-physician coverage at all times.
- Efficiently stabilize and coordinate transfers for high-acuity trauma and major cardiac cases ("no heads, no hearts") to tertiary care partners.
- Work a predictable rotation of 15 shifts per month utilizing three structured 10-hour blocks (6:00 AM–4:00 PM, 1:00 PM–11:00 PM, or 4:00 PM–2:00 AM).
- Coordinate patient care with on-site specialties, including the hospital’s dedicated inpatient psychiatric department.
- Maintain thorough, accurate, and timely electronic medical records for all patient encounters.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) in Emergency Medicine (or a relevant specialty with extensive ED experience).
- Active, unrestricted Illinois state medical license (or immediate eligibility to obtain).
- Valid DEA registration.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a team-oriented mindset optimized for a co-coverage model.
