Requisition ID: 180300 Job Level: Entry Level Home District/Group: Kiewit Mining District Department: Equipment Market: Mining Employment Type: Full Time Position Overview As an Entry Level Equipment Engineer, you will support Regional Construction & Mining operations. This position is responsible for the planning, scheduling, budgeting, utilization and reliability of a construction and mining equipment fleet. You will handle day-to-day and long-term equipment fleet issues and focus on improving equipment reliability by implementing, monitoring, auditing and managing preventative maintenance programs. Responsibilities Understand and comply with all federal, state, and company health, safety, and environmental requirements. Handle material handling and procurement. Create and maintain tool/filter lists and documentation. Inspect equipment and parts. Manage logistics and communication. Plan, schedule, and budget long- and short-range equipment. Prepare paperwork for critical lifts. Use reliability and failure analysis data to increase equipment availability and reliability. Establish and maintain communications between all levels of supervision and management. Support craft maintenance technicians—ordering parts, managing inventory, scheduling crews, and ensuring quality and safety. Participate in specialty projects as needed. Regular reliable attendance and meet deadlines. Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others. Perform work safely and effectively, following instructions and policies. Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within deadlines; may work overtime and weekends as required. May work at various locations with varying conditions. Qualifications Undergraduate AS/BS degree in Diesel/Automotive Technology, Heavy Equipment Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Construction Management. At least 1 year of experience with equipment, and/or experience in equipment planning, scheduling, and budgeting. Strong work ethic and willingness to get the job done. Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills. High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Willingness to travel and relocate as required. Willingness to work in both office and field environments. Knowledge of CAD modeling programs is preferred. Ability to access all points of a construction site or equipment yard in varied climates and environments. Compensation Base Compensation: $86,000/yr - $95,000/yr.
