ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional care in a fast-paced Intensive Care Unit environment.

Position Details

• Unit Type: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Number of Beds: 33 beds, with an average daily census of 16
• Nurse-Patient Ratios: 1:2-3 for adult patients
• Common Diagnoses/Types of Patients: Trauma, cardiac issues, overdose/substance abuse, adult sepsis, post-stent patients, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, respiratory distress
• Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Shifts: 12-hour shifts (Days and Nights)

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care to patients in the ICU, including titration of intravenous drips such as cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation.
• Monitor and document patient responses to treatments, including the use of medical equipment like ventilators and other respiratory therapies.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.
• Participate in patient education and communication with families regarding care and treatment options.
• Adhere to hospital policies regarding appearance and patient safety, including compliance with the fingernail policy.

Schedule and Availability

• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirements: Minimum of 2 holidays during the contract period
• Unit Specific Orientation: 1 shift
• Requests for Time Off (RTO): Up to 7 days per 13-week contract will be considered

Additional Information

This position requires a valid driver's license for verification of location compliance. The RN should expect periodic floating to other units, such as PCU and MedSurg, maintaining the same patient care ratios.
