Well Cost Analyst for AI Model Evaluation

Well Cost Analysts apply practical drilling and well-planning knowledge to evaluate AI-generated outputs, produce expert-level training data, and help improve how models understand drilling workflows and energy data systems.

• Evaluate AI-generated content for technical accuracy, relevance, and adherence to standard drilling and completions practices.
• Use hands-on experience with drilling operations, well planning, and energy data systems to create and annotate expert training examples.
• Provide detailed, actionable feedback that helps AI better represent drilling workflows and cost-related analyses.
• Validate model outputs using the daily tools and data sources you use in practice, noting errors, omissions, and edge cases.
• No prior AI experience is required, contributions focus on domain expertise and clear technical feedback.

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in drilling, completions, or related energy operations.
• Relevant roles include, but are not limited to, Drilling Engineer, Completions Engineer, Well Cost Analyst, or Drilling Superintendent, or equivalent field roles.
• Hands-on experience with one or more of the following tools: WellView, SAP, ComboCurve, AVEVA PI.
• Strong written communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and asynchronously with remote AI research teams.

• Engagement type: part-time, hourly contract work, not a traditional full-time employment role.
• Location: fully remote, work from your own location.
• Schedule: flexible, asynchronous hours with no minimum hour requirement; most contributors work approximately 5-20 hours per week when participating in an active project.
• Ongoing, project-based participation that can be done alongside other commitments.
• Placement depends on current project needs; contributors may be considered for additional projects as new opportunities arise.
