Residential Counselor - Mental HealthThe Residential Counselor - Mental Health provides therapeutic residential support to adult clients with mental illness. The successful candidate will assist with daily living activities, medication management and crisis intervention in a group home setting.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Provides support to clients in daily living skills and personal care needsProvides direct supervision in a group home settingAssists with maintenance and upkeep of the group home with the assistance of resident clientsProvides input into assessments, conferences and treatment planningOrganizes and supervises recreational and social activitiesProvides support and assistance to clients in obtaining additional needed servicesCollects and records data, and completes all required documentationFollows policies and procedures for the monitoring of clients' medicationsIntervenes appropriately with clients to prevent, avert or manage crisis situationsProvides transportation as needed and accompanies clients to and from appointmentsResponsible for ensuring a safe, therapeutic environment and adhering to all safety standards, Federal and State regulations, and corporate policiesEducation, Knowledge, Skill & Ability:High school diploma or equivalent with four (4) years of work or life experience, ORHigh school diploma or equivalent with two (2) years of work or life experience and a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license, ORBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a mental health, health or other related human services discipline, or license as a Registered Nurse (RN) ORBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a non-mental health/health human services discipline and one or more years of related work or life experience together equaling four (4) yearsValid and unrestricted driver's license with a clean driving recordsExcellent interpersonal and communications skillsAbility to demonstrate respect for individuals with mental illness and their familiesSalary:$18.53 to $19.86 per hour based on experience and education.
