Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to perform complex accounting and financial analysis activities while supporting the accuracy and integrity of the organization’s financial statements. This role will provide meaningful financial analysis, recommend improvements to accounting processes and systems, and serve as a resource to accounting staff and financial leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex accounting, financial reporting, and financial analysis assignments
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Analyze financial results and provide detailed variance analysis
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial statements
- Retrieve and analyze financial data from ERP and Business Intelligence systems
- Identify and recommend improvements to accounting systems, processes, and procedures
- Review and approve account reconciliations
- Provide guidance, training, and support to accounting staff
- Partner with hospital financial management and administration on accounting and financial matters
- Assist with audits, reporting requirements, and special financial projects as needed
Qualifications
- 5–7 years of accounting experience
- Advanced financial accounting knowledge and experience
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to prepare and interpret variance analysis
- Experience retrieving and analyzing data from ERP and Business Intelligence systems
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, macros, and complex spreadsheets
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with accounting and financial leadership
