Plumbing Supply Counter Sales Associate

Location: Union, NJ
Pay: $18.00–$22.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and customer-focused Plumbing Supply Counter Sales Associate for a busy plumbing supply operation in Union, NJ.

The ideal candidate will have some level of plumbing experience or plumbing product knowledge and be comfortable helping plumbers, contractors, and customers identify the correct parts and materials for their jobs.

This is a great opportunity for someone who has worked as a Plumbing Helper, Apprentice Plumber, Plumbing Supply Associate, Counter Sales Representative, or Plumbing Parts Associate and wants a steady, customer-facing position.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist customers at the counter with plumbing parts, supplies, and equipment
• Help customers identify the correct products for plumbing repairs and installations
• Answer questions regarding common plumbing materials, fittings, valves, pipe, and related products
• Process customer orders accurately and efficiently
• Look up products, pricing, and inventory using the company's computer system
• Prepare and stage customer orders for pickup
• Assist with receiving, stocking, and organizing plumbing supplies
• Maintain accurate inventory and report product shortages
• Answer incoming customer calls and assist with product and order questions
• Build strong relationships with plumbers, contractors, and regular customers
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional counter and warehouse area
• Assist with general warehouse duties when needed

Qualifications

• Previous plumbing experience or knowledge of plumbing parts and materials strongly preferred
• Plumbing helper, apprentice plumber, plumbing supply, maintenance, or similar experience is a plus
• Familiarity with common plumbing products such as pipe, fittings, valves, faucets, and repair parts
• Previous counter sales, parts counter, hardware, or building supply experience is a plus
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Comfortable using computers to enter orders and look up inventory
• Ability to accurately identify products and part numbers
• Ability to lift and move plumbing supplies and materials as needed
• Dependable, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to learn additional plumbing products and applications

Ideal Candidate

We're looking for someone who understands plumbing well enough to speak the language with plumbers and contractors. You do not need to be a licensed plumber, but you should have enough hands-on plumbing or plumbing supply experience to recognize common parts, understand what customers are asking for, and help them find the right materials.

Compensation

$18.00–$22.00 per hour, depending on plumbing knowledge and experience.
