Employment & Labor Attorney: 2nd-5th year

Cooley LLP is looking for an experienced employment lawyer to join the Employment and Labor practice group in San Diego, Los Angeles, or Santa Monica. The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years of diverse employment law experience, including case development, legal research and writing, discovery, witness interviews or investigations, and brief writing. Candidates should also possess strong employment counseling skills and a background in advising clients on employment policies, statutory compliance, and employment and separation agreements. The role requires strong academic credentials, exceptional communication and legal‑writing ability, high motivation and initiative, willingness to mentor junior associates, and a strong work ethic. Current admission to the California bar is required. EOE. Broad experience in employment law (case development, research, writing, discovery, witness interviewing, brief drafting) Employment counseling skills (policy advising, regulatory compliance, separation agreements) Academic credentials, legal writing, communication skills, initiative, work ethic Mentoring junior associates Current California bar admission Annual pay range: $235,000–$365,000, depending on location, experience and skill set.
