Location West Chester, OH, United States Qualifications Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology (minimum required). Bachelor’s Degree in Radiologic Technology (preferred). Completion of a JRCERT‑approved Radiologic Technology program or an Associate of Science Degree in Radiologic Technology. Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Hired associates have twelve months to pass the ARRT CT registry and become CT certified. Must participate in continuing education activities per ARRT guidelines. Valid Ohio radiologic license. Current CPR certification by the American Heart Association. Preferred: 1–2 years of equivalent experience. Required Skills and Knowledge Complete at least 24 hours of direct credit continuing education every two years. Responsibilities Assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by producing diagnostic CT scans of various organs and structures. Operates with minimal supervision, uses independent judgment to determine quality of radiographs, and complies with established protocols. Patient Population – Clinical Only Engage in population‑appropriate communication. Have knowledge of growth and development milestones and tasks. Give clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment. Involve family/guardian in assessment, initial treatment and continuing care of the patient. Identify any physical limitations of the patient and deploy intervention when necessary. Recognize and respond appropriately to patients/families with behavioral health problems. Interpret population‑related data and plan care appropriately. Identify and respond appropriately to different needs resulting from unique psychological needs or those associated with religious/cultural norms; perform treatments, administer medication or operate equipment safely. Recognize and respond to signs/symptoms of abuse or neglect. Job Skills/Knowledge Perform all tasks in the CT area, including reviewing patient histories, positioning patients, providing protection from ionizing radiation, using immobilization devices for safety and quality images, performing highest‑quality imaging per protocol, manipulating reconstructed images, loading and programming injectors for IV contrast, and more. Patient Care Perform all aspects of patient care, including greeting patients, providing care appropriate to condition and age, explaining tests, verifying medication reconciliation for patients receiving IV contrast, evaluating patients for possible contraindications, preparing and administering contrast orally, intravenously and rectally, practicing aseptic and sterile technique, and administering or assisting in administering CPR and other emergency procedures. Radiation Safety Follow standard safety protocols for personnel using radiation‑producing equipment. Properly screen females of childbearing years for possible pregnancy. Regulate technical factors on individual patients to reduce radiation exposure while ensuring diagnostic quality images. Wear dosimeters correctly. Be acquainted with hospital policies regarding fire safety and infection control. Performance Improvement Adhere to corporate and departmental policies on time and attendance. Takes call as assigned, including weekends and holidays. Work assigned schedule and request changes through lead or manager without creating overtime. Produce a quantity of work comparable to coworkers in a reasonable amount of time. Cleanliness/Supplies Maintain the CT area through regular stocking and cleaning. Report supply shortages to lead or manager. Use appropriate cleaning supplies for each piece of equipment and situation. Continuing Education Instruct Radiologic Technology students in methods and procedures. Participate in continuing education activities related to the field of Radiologic Technology and its subspecialties. Demonstrate and maintain skills in providing care for patients of specific age groups such as geriatric and neonatal, through in‑service and continuing education. Accessory Duties Able to appropriately utilize multiple types of computer programs and functions. Document appropriately in the HIS/RIS all aspects of patient care, including contrast injection, IV start, supply charges and allergies. Appropriately use PACS to store images. Appropriately schedule patients for exams, being mindful of contraindications and informed consent when necessary. Quality Perform daily warm‑ups and daily QC testing. Assist physicist in weekly, monthly and yearly QC testing. Ensure equipment is working correctly and report any problems immediately.
