The Education Department provides comprehensive educational programs and services to inmates. Our goal is to enhance inmates' academic, vocational, and life skills, thereby promoting personal development and successful reintegration into society. By offering quality education and training, we aim to reduce recidivism and support inmates in becoming productive, law-abiding citizens. This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves. JOB DUTIES: Leads the dynamic Wellness Education program, planning, administering, and teaching engaging classroom activities for inmates. Supervises and coordinates exciting recreational activities, ensuring security and direct supervision for all participants. Collaborates with medical and security staff to create impactful wellness programs that support the social recovery of inmates. Monitors and assesses inmate interests, transforming assessments into actionable goals and performance tasks to enhance wellness education. Organizes and oversees special events and competitive wellness activities, including coordinating with outside groups for recreational and cultural experiences.
