Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical Float Position is based in Johnson City, New York. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care within a medical-surgical setting, with a focus on cardiac telemetry, ensuring patient safety, education, and advocating for optimal health outcomes. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

• Location: Johnson City, NY
• Schedule: 12 days; 36 hours per week, every other weekend, for a total of 13 weeks
• Required Qualifications: NYS RN License, BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross), Nursing (RN) experience of six (6) months to three (3) years, Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, current NYS RN license, relevant skills certification (e.g., ACLS, PALS, TNCC), ability to review and accurately complete telemetry skills checklists, and confirmation of cardiac experience with relevant skills highlighted in the resume.
• Preferred Qualifications: Professional certification in a related nursing specialty, previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting.
• Additional Information: The nurse will perform duties that include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, with particular expertise in cardiac telemetry and post-operative cardiac patients. Experience with TAVR, watchmans, mitral clips, heart catheterizations, open heart pre-op/post-op transfers, cardiac IVs, PO medications, and cardiac drips (e.g., Cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, lidocaine, milrinone, heparin, insulin) is essential. The candidate should be familiar with complications, groin management, TR band, and use of the electronic medical record system Epic.
