Sales Director, Walmart

Job Description:

The Sales Director, Walmart is responsible for leading a sales team to deliver all assigned business objectives, including gross and net sales, market share, and other customer and Mars performance KPIs. This role develops and executes a multi-year customer strategy and people strategy designed to drive sustainable business growth and long-term success.

In addition, the Sales Director manages and develops a team of associates, fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing culture. The role also serves as the primary relationship owner with customer merchant teams, while partnering closely with internal stakeholders to align priorities, influence decision-making, and ensure successful delivery of business objectives.

Must-Have Qualifications:

•10+ years of sales/category/analytics/marketing/people leadership experience within CPG industry and advanced knowledge of trade management

• Demonstrated ability to build collaborative partnerships with retail customers and internal business stakeholders

• Direct selling and category management experience across retailers, illustrating ability to develop and execute multi-year growth strategy

• Strong analytic skills and ability to distill complex data into simple stories

• Proven people leader and builder of teams

Key responsibilities:

• Manage +$50M budgets across Trade, Marketing, Retail Media, Logistics, and Non-Working to deliver mutually profitable business plans > $500M in gross sales. 

• Develop robust development and objective plans, drive engagement and ensure team is clear on priorities and objectives across the business.

• Represent customer on Walmart leadership team to establish goals and priorities, and to provide strategic direction for the total business.

• Set strategic vision and manage the sales team to deliver established goals and priorities.

• Lead the team in development and communication of sales initiatives and related action plans that deliver account objectives – including trade/customer P&L management, promotional activity and effectiveness, customer management and negotiation, and internal communications.

• Lead the team to create and deliver best practice presentations which not only attain customer objectives but provide future opportunities as well.

• Lead cross-functional collaboration within MPN and with customers to guide best in class collaboration across supply chain, customer service, category management, and marketing.

• Assist in MPN-wide initiatives and to deliver enterprise objectives and portfolio goals.
