Senior Transient Analysis Engineer

Job Summary Senior Transient Analysis Engineer to support Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) transient analyses. The role contributes to BWR reload analysis, power uprate, new plant analyses, and applies state‑of‑the‑art thermal hydraulics to meet licensing requirements and solve day‑to‑day plant problems. Eligibility Requirements This role requires access to U.S. export‑controlled information. Final offers are contingent on obtaining authorization from the U.S. Government. Preferred work location: GEH Headquarters, Wilmington, NC; remote candidates considered. Roles and Responsibilities Lead projects and technical evaluations in Anticipated Operational Occurrences, Anticipated Transients without Scram, Reactor Heat Balance, and Thermal Hydraulic Fuel Channel Analyses. Deliver high‑quality products in alignment with customer, regulatory, and business requirements. Communicate, present, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders. Develop and improve automation and methods. Prepare technical reports, correspondence, and calculations. Verify engineering deliverables. Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise. Present complex technical issues to internal and external customers and recommend solutions. Implement continual improvement of transient analysis work processes. Perform other relevant duties as assigned. Required Qualifications B.S. Degree in Engineering Discipline (Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or similar). At least 8 years of nuclear experience. Desired Characteristics Master's or Ph.D. in Engineering, or Senior Reactor Operator Certification. Experience with BWR core simulation and thermal‑hydraulic systems codes. Extensive knowledge of BWR systems and integrated plant response. Strong knowledge of nuclear physics, thermal hydraulics, and mechanical design as applied to BWR. Experience in engineering work planning and design processes.
