Assists in collection and preparation of fine needle aspiration specimens; performs ancillary prep, clerical and quality control duties when needed; enters negative gynecological results into computer; participates in on-site cytology and other continuing education opportunities. Contents are subject to change at the company's discretion.**Education**Required - Bachelor's degreeGraduation from a Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation accredited school of cytotechnologist or other organization approved by Health and Human Services or Certified in cytotechnologist by a certification agency approved by HHS (e.g., American Society of Clinical Pathologists).**Work Experience**Required - None.**Certifications**Required - C.T. (ASCP) registered. Louisiana CYT license or eligible. **Job Duties*** Ensures clinical competency.* Exhibits professional accountability.* Supports departmental goals and objectives.* Adheres to regulatory agency compliance.* Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.* Other related duties as required.The above statements describe the general nature and level of work only.
