Job Title: RN Medical/Surgical Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical/Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:30 PM - 07:00 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: State RN License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Critical thinking skills - Decisive judgment - Ability to work with minimal supervision - Capability to work in a stressful environment Description: Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. This position requires working up to six weekend shifts and holidays if needed based on department needs. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. This unit cares for a diverse patient population and is equipped for telemetry monitoring. Nurse to patient ratio is 1:5-6, supported by nursing assistants and a healthcare unit coordinator. Virtual sitter monitoring and monitor technicians are available for patients on telemetry. This is a Level I trauma center serving a population of all ages. Collaboration and teamwork are essential as nurses work together and are supported by other staff.
