Position Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced (Screening Review) – Kansas City, KS Pay Rate: $19.17 / Hour Job Schedule: Tuesday 10:00 PM – 06:00 AM How This Role Works: Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment. Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed. Responsibilities Provide customer service to visitors, associates, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology-focused location. Screen people, bags, packages, and/or deliveries entering or leaving the location in accordance with site protocols, and report unusual activity or policy concerns to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership. Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating clearly with site personnel and/or first responders when needed. Monitor entry points, screening equipment, and high-traffic areas to help support authorized access, visitor processing, and adherence to location rules and expectations. Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, noting maintenance concerns, unsecured access points, and/or other conditions that may require follow-up. Minimum Requirements Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
