MRI Technologist

MRI TechnologistMRI Technologist operates and maintains a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner to obtain images from patients which are used by physicians to diagnose the nature and extent of designated pathologies. Participates in the establishment of scan protocol, as appropriate.Duties:Verifies written request for MRI procedures.Instructs patients regarding MRI procedures; prepares, positions, and manipulates patients to ensure appropriate placement for imaging.Selects appropriate imaging techniques, and calibrates console and peripheral hardware as required.Obtains images, produces film records and backups from desk to storage media, and transfers from desk to work stations as requested.Performs contrast injections satisfactorily.Maintain current knowledge of MRI environmental, patient and visitor safety as defined by hospital policy, practice, ACR and Joint Commission.Charges procedures in RMS accurately and immediately after procedure is performed.Sends images to PACS appropriately and verifies all are available for interpretation in a timely manner.Enters and monitors patient data and maintains accurate study documentation.Performs quality assurance on magnetic resonance equipment and procedures.Maintains MRI Lab supplies.May provide instruction and guidance in MRI procedures to staff in training as assigned.Demonstrates clinical knowledge and skill in the care of the newborn, infant, toddler, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient.Ensures adherence to established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, QA programs and safety standards.Performs additional duties as assigned.Benefit Highlights:Tuition/Certification Reimbursement after 6 monthsLoan Forgiveness ProgramChallenging and rewarding work environmentCompetitive Compensation & Generous Paid Time OffExcellent Medical, Dental, Vision and Prescription Drug Plans401(K) with company match and discounted stock planSoFi Student Loan Refinancing ProgramCareer development opportunities within UHS and its 300+ Subsidiaries!Qualifications Requirements:Education requirements: Successful completion of a radiological program or equivalent military trainingWork experience requirements: Two (2) years experience in diagnostic radiology in a health care facility and one (1) year experience as an MRI Technologist preferredRequired licenses/ certifications/courses: ARRT registered, BLS (or obtained within 90 days of employment ), current South Carolina license issued by SC Radiation Quality Standards AssociationEEO Statement: All UHS subsidiaries are committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates.
