Integration Engineer (Data Engineering)

Overview

We are seeking an Integration Engineer to join our data engineering team and play a critical role in connecting, transforming, and preparing data across systems. This role focuses on building scalable data integrations, solving complex data challenges, and ensuring high-quality delivery to downstream applications.

This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys problem-solving, and can operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

What You’ll Do

• Build and maintain data integration pipelines using AWS, Python, SQL, and ETL tools
• Integrate and process data across formats ( CSV, JSON, XML, HL7, flat files )
• Perform large-scale data movement (on-prem → cloud, database migrations)
• Conduct data discovery and mapping, identifying gaps and inconsistencies early
• Interview stakeholders, users, and subject matter experts to define requirements and create clear documentation around project scope
• Solve complex data and integration challenges with scalable, repeatable solutions
• Partner with engineers, PMs, and stakeholders to deliver aligned outcomes
• Produce clear documentation and support clean handoffs to downstream teams
• Continuously improve workflows, tools, and integration processes

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience with Python and SQL
• Experience with AWS (S3, EC2, RDS or similar)
• Experience with ETL/ELT tools (e.g., Alteryx or similar)
• Experience working with healthcare data extraction (EMR/EHR, claims, clinical data)
• Comfort working with complex data formats (CSV, JSON, XML, HL7)
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work through ambiguity
• Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Clear and effective communication across technical and non-technical audiences

Nice to Have

• Experience with large-scale data migrations or system integrations
• Experience building automation or reusable data frameworks
• Background in regulated data environments
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (Kiro, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar), including agentic AI workflows.

• Own small-to-medium integrations independently
• Perform data discovery and mapping with minimal guidance
• Contribute to pipelines and collaborate with team members

90 Days

• Own full integration workstreams end-to-end
• Manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality
• Identify improvements and contribute scalable solutions
