This is a consultative, client-facing insurance role rather than a transactional service position. The individual will work directly with business leaders and risk management professionals, helping clients develop, manage, and continuously improve their commercial insurance and risk management programs. The ideal candidate will have strong commercial insurance knowledge, experience handling complex accounts, excellent carrier relationships, strong communication skills, and the ability to advise senior-level stakeholders. Job Roles And Responsibilities Serve as the primary strategic contact for a portfolio of commercial insurance clients. Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients and key decision makers. Understand each client's business operations, exposures, and evolving risk profile. Design, structure, and manage commercial insurance programs. Review existing insurance programs and recommend appropriate coverage improvements. Manage renewals, policy changes, market conditions, and program adjustments proactively. Develop and maintain strong relationships with insurance carriers and underwriters. Lead carrier negotiations and obtain competitive coverage terms and structures. Present insurance and risk management recommendations to senior executives and risk managers. Advise clients regarding coverage strategy, risk exposures, and insurance program decisions. Assist and advocate for clients during claims situations. Monitor insurance industry trends, emerging risks, and regulatory changes. Coordinate with internal insurance strategy, service, analysis, and administrative teams. Balance strategic client advisory work with hands-on account and program management. Maintain strong organization and responsiveness across a sophisticated commercial account portfolio. Qualifications And Certifications Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Insurance, or a related field preferred. Strong experience working with commercial insurance clients. Experience handling complex and multifaceted commercial risks. Strong knowledge of commercial insurance programs, coverage structures, and carrier markets. Ability to advise business owners, risk managers, executives, and C-suite stakeholders. Strong client relationship management and communication skills. Strong organizational and time management abilities. Consultative approach to identifying risks and developing insurance solutions. Ability to combine strategic advisory responsibilities with hands-on account management. Experience with agency management systems such as AMS360. Strong Microsoft Office and Excel skills. Insurance designations such as CPCU, CIC, or ARM are preferred. Active commitment to continuing insurance education and technical development.
