Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Southridge Behavioral Hospital is a beautiful and new state-of-the-art facility. As a joint venture with the Trinity Health System and Universal Health Services, we serve up to 96 adult and geriatric patients across four units. We believe that caring, dedicated and valued staff provide exceptional patient care. We are seeking high caliber applicants that will provide innovative and evidence-based care focused on our patient's individual needs, comfort and safety.

Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) carry out the daily routines of patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse and House Supervisor:

• Provides direct patient care according to nursing care plans and the patient's treatment plan.
• Participates with other personnel in maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu.
• Assists with behavior management, crisis control, seclusion and restraint, under the direction of the registered nurse.
• Partners with RN with patient admissions and discharges.
• Administers medication and treatments to patients.
• Assists with medication education, informed consent and monitoring the effectiveness and efficacy of medications.
• Documents the administration of medications and treatments according to policies and procedures.

Hours and Location: Full Time Day Shift. 3 12-hour shifts, 7am-7:30pm. Every other weekend rotation. We are located on the south side of Grand Rapids, near the intersection of M-6 and Byron Center Ave SW: 6291 Venture Hills Boulevard SW, Byron Center, MI 49315

Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing.
• Basic understanding of psychiatric nursing theory, and practice, with previous psychiatric clinical experience desired.
• Demonstrated clinical competency in providing general nursing care.
• Current LPN Licensure in the State of Michigan Required.
