Director of Road Service - Diesel & Trailer Operations

Director of Road Service Heavy-Duty Diesel & Trailer Operations Leadership | New England A growing heavy-duty service operation in New England is looking for a strong leader to take ownership of a rapidly expanding road service division. This is not a "keep the lights on" management role - this is an opportunity to build, scale, and lead a major road service operation with the backing, resources, and authority to make real decisions. - Manage road service personnel, leadership, recruiting, and technician development
- Oversee diesel and trailer repair operations in the field
- Drive operational performance, labor efficiency, and profitability
- Review service calls and billing accuracy to ensure every dollar is captured properly
- Work directly with senior leadership on growth strategy and expansion plans
- Build customer relationships with major fleet accounts
- Oversee road service truck procurement, setup, deployment, and repair decisions
- Improve training, safety standards, dispatch coordination, and technician performance
- Help scale the operation through hiring, process improvement, and leadership development
- Leadership or management experience in heavy-duty service operations
- Strong diesel and trailer maintenance background
- Experience managing technicians, service teams, or road service operations
- Ability to understand service profitability, labor utilization, and operational metrics
- Experience with service writing, invoicing, or repair billing review
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable with shop management systems, dispatch software, and technology platforms
- Willingness to travel throughout the New England service footprint
- Direct road service or mobile maintenance leadership experience
- Experience scaling service operations or opening new coverage areas
- Familiarity with fleet management systems, dispatch software, or telematics platforms
- ASE certifications or OEM training
- Base salary: $90,000-$120,000 depending on experience
