Clinical Genomics Scientist - Whole Genome Sequencing (Remote / Hybrid)

responsibilities:

• Conduct end-to-end case analysis, interpretation, and reporting for clinical whole genome sequencing tests, including TruGenome Undiagnosed Disease and Cardiovascular Disease tests.
• Review medical notes and phenotyping data to perform variant analysis, triaging, and gene curation.
• Synthesize and contextualize genetic results with patient profiles to draft clinical report language.
• Evaluate analytical and clinical characteristics of genetic variants using critical problem-solving strategies.
• Analyze clinical literature to translate findings directly to patient cases.

 
qualifications:



Required:

• Advanced Degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Biological Sciences.
• 2+ years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.

Preferred:

• Familiarity with ClinGen Sequence Variant Interpretation Working Group and Expert Panel modifications.
• Basic understanding of bioinformatics approaches to clinical genome analysis.
• Proficiency in applying ACMG/AMP guidelines for SNVs, small insertions/deletions, and mitochondrial DNA SNVs.
• Proficiency in ACMG/ClinGen standards for copy number variants (CNVs).
• Strong understanding of genotype-phenotype relationships and clinical applications of genetic data.
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate medical/scientific literature and manage time-sensitive case loads.
