Physician Assistant Trauma Surgery

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking to employ a full time Physician Assistant for the Level I Trauma Center located in Neptune, New Jersey. The position includes Trauma, Surgical Critical Care, and Emergency General Surgery responsibilities. Jersey Shore University Medical Center is the trauma center for adults and children in the region, providing expertise and specialty capabilities unavailable at any other hospital in Monmouth or Ocean County.This is your opportunity to practice at the highest level of care as part of the first and only hospital in New Jersey verified as both an Adult and Pediatric Level 1 Trauma Center.

As a Trauma PA, you will be a vital member of a fast-paced, expert team, managing the day-to-day needs of critically injured patients under the supervision of our world-class physicians. You will not just be performing tasks; you will be a key clinical partner in a nationally recognized program.

Opportunity Information

• Level I Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center, 24/7/365 with board-certified trauma

surgeons, 24 hr CT scans and OR, SICU, and PICU

• Schedule: Full-time, rotating days (6 AM - 8 PM) and nights (6 PM - 8 AM), including weekends and holidays.

• Shifts: 6 shifts per pay period

• Treat adults and pediatric patients

Responsibilities

• Manage Complex Trauma Cases: Perform comprehensive patient assessments, order and interpret diagnostic studies, and collaborate directly with supervising trauma surgeons on treatment plans.

• Perform Advanced Procedures: Utilize your clinical expertise to perform advanced procedural skills pertinent to the trauma specialty.

• Drive Coordinated Care: Serve as a crucial link in our multidisciplinary team, participating in daily rounds and ensuring clear communication to facilitate seamless patient care from admission to discharge.

• Mentor and Lead: Act as a clinical resource and mentor for other PAs, precept students, and contribute to the growth and innovation of our trauma service.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of Physician Assistant experience in a Trauma or Emergency Medicine setting is required.

• Licensure : Current, unrestricted NJ Physician Assistant License.

• Certification: National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and BLS certification required. ACLS is preferred.

COMPENSATION:

Minimum Starting Base Salary: $156,603.20
