Preventative Maintenance Technician

Job Summary In this role, you will be responsible for conducting routine inspections of equipment and facilities, performing preventative maintenance, and handling basic repairs. Job Duties/Responsibilities Conduct routine inspections of machinery, equipment, and facilities to identify maintenance needs and potential issues. Perform preventative maintenance tasks to ensure all equipment is in optimal working condition and to reduce the likelihood of breakdowns. Handle basic repairs, including diagnosing mechanical issues and fixing or replacing faulty components. Oversee contractors when specialized or professional repairs are necessary, ensuring work is completed according to company standards. Disassemble machinery, equipment, or devices to remove defective parts and replace them as needed. Read and interpret blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs to guide repair and maintenance work. Utilize a variety of hand and power tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches to carry out repairs. Use precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices to ensure equipment is functioning correctly. Document maintenance activities and repairs, ensuring records are kept up to date. Demonstrate strong organizational skills, ensuring all maintenance tasks are tracked and completed efficiently. Maintain a professional attitude and presentation while working independently or as part of a team. Follow up on maintenance tasks to ensure all repairs are properly completed and operational. Perform other related duties as assigned. Requirements Must understand electricity (some) and carpentry Must provide own tools (special tools needed will be provided) Ability to read and interpret blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs. Skilled in diagnosing mechanical issues and performing basic repairs on a wide variety of equipment. Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions. Ability to work in a variety of roles. Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others in a team environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to utilize the tact and diplomacy required to foster a team environment while keeping projects on schedule and budget. Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment, as well as a strong attention to detail and accuracy. Must be able to work overtime and weekends when needed. Qualifications and Education Requirements Proven experience in maintenance, with a strong background in equipment and machinery repair. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); a related degree from a technical college is preferred. Physical Requirements Lifting: Occasionally raises objects from a lower to a higher position or moves objects horizontally from position to position. Weight is usually less than 50 lbs. Push/Pull: Occasionally uses upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion. Weight is usually less than 50 lbs. Reaching: Extends hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Weight is usually less than 50 lbs. Stooping: Bends body downward and forward at the waist. Weight is usually less than 50 lbs. Standing: Standing for moderate levels of time. Infrequently more than 30 minutes at a time. Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks.
