Registered Nurse Cardiac Tele

Specialty focuses on Cardiac Telemetry. Contract length is 18 weeks. Daily census averages around 25 patients. Patient diagnoses include telemetry patients with primary or secondary cardiac conditions, primary strokes/TIA, and stable cardiac catheterization patients. Specialty drips include Cardizem (non-titratable), Amiodarone, Heparin, Protonix, and Lasix. Remote telemetry monitoring is conducted via a specific system. Staffing includes interdisciplinary support from IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. Floating within the specialty and other units is required. Weekend coverage is needed every other weekend, and festive holidays may also be required as scheduled. Candidates must be comfortable with floating within scope and without restrictions. Candidates are expected to manage cardiac drips with no titration and be skilled in telemetry monitoring. Skills required include BiPAP/CPAP management, central line care, interpretation of dysrhythmias, IV protocol management, and starting and maintaining IVs.
