Job Title: Assembler Job Description

The Assembler builds complete hydraulic and pneumatic valves and valve components by following blueprints, assembly instructions, and established work processes. This role works in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, using hand and power tools to assemble, prepare, and finish parts while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity. The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow detailed instructions, and a commitment to supporting the team in meeting daily production goals.

Responsibilities

• Assemble complete hydraulic and pneumatic valves and valve components according to blueprints and detailed assembly instructions.

• Follow and complete the daily job list as directed by the supervisor to meet production schedules and deadlines.

• Swedge or roll crimp valve fitting ends to form a precise 37° angle in accordance with specifications.

• Perform seat preparations, including burnishing, coining, and cleaning, with minimal supervision and in line with applicable work instructions.

• Apply sealants and other chemicals as required for each assembly, following proper handling and application procedures.

• Maintain accurate parts tracking and part counts for each job to ensure inventory and production records remain correct.

• Operate small hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently, such as drills, torque tools, and other assembly equipment.

• Maintain all hand tools in clean, safe, and proper working condition, and report any damaged tools promptly.

• Notify the supervisor of any equipment or tooling that requires repair, adjustment, or replacement.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation, following 5S or similar housekeeping standards as required.

• Properly handle, store, and dispose of chemicals in accordance with safety procedures and environmental guidelines.

• Follow all safety standards, use required safety equipment, and comply with company safety policies at all times.

• Use proper fixtures and tooling during assembly to ensure product quality, consistency, and adherence to engineering specifications.

• Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, schematics, and work instructions to perform mechanical assembly tasks.

• Perform rework as needed, including disassembly, repair, and reassembly of parts to correct quality issues.

• Use equipment such as drill presses and torque tools to complete mechanical operations as specified in the work instructions.

• Collaborate with team members on the production and assembly line to achieve daily output and quality targets.

• Communicate any production, quality, or safety concerns to the appropriate team members or supervisors in a timely manner.

Essential Skills

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and assembly instructions for mechanical assemblies.

• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form.

• Ability to solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

• Hands-on experience using mechanical hand tools and power tools in a production or assembly environment.

• Capability to perform precise mechanical operations such as swedging or roll crimping to a 37° angle.

• Ability to perform seat preparations, including burnishing, coining, and cleaning, with minimal supervision.

• Strong attention to detail to maintain accurate parts counts and ensure assemblies meet specifications.

• Basic computer skills, including use of Windows and internet browsers.

• Familiarity with ERP or inventory systems to support production and material tracking.

• Ability to work effectively in a busy manufacturing environment and meet daily deadlines.

• Commitment to following safety procedures, using required safety equipment, and handling chemicals properly.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment with mechanical assemblies.

• Background in using torque tools, drill presses, and other mechanical equipment in an assembly setting.

• Comfort working from mechanical drawings and schematics to perform detailed assembly tasks.

• Experience with ERP or inventory management systems in a production environment.

• Strong teamwork and communication skills, with a willingness to assist others to complete daily goals.

• Ability to adapt to different shifts during training and transition periods as required by the operation.

Work Environment

This role is based in a busy manufacturing environment that can be loud at times, with many simultaneous activities on the production floor. You will work as part of a close-knit team of approximately 10–15 people, where team members support each other to meet daily deadlines and production goals. The standard schedule follows a 4/10 shift, working four days per week from 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. Training occurs on first shift, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., until a clear evaluation supports moving to the regular shift. The work involves frequent use of mechanical hand tools, power tools, fixtures, torque tools, and equipment such as drill presses, as well as interaction with ERP and inventory systems. The dress code requires steel-toe footwear, jeans, and a non-offensive top, with appropriate safety equipment used as required. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and teamwork while supporting high-quality manufacturing operations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Valencia, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
