What You Will Do: As a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant specializing in General Surgery, you will support urgent surgical coverage, working 10-hour shifts from 8 am to 6 pm. Your expertise will help ensure seamless patient care, working collaboratively with our surgical team in a busy hospital setting. You will be responsible for assessing, managing, and providing perioperative care to surgical patients, utilizing your strong clinical judgment and surgical knowledge. Required Skills: Active California medical license and CA DEA registration Certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) with general surgery experience or a Nurse Practitioner with ACNP credential and current national certification BLS and ACLS certifications Proven experience in general surgery, with current hospital-based clinical activity within the last 2 years Ability to work independently and efficiently in a high-pressure environment Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills Nice to Have Skills: Experience in trauma or emergency surgical settings Familiarity with surgical case logs and hospital privileging processes Strong documentation and electronic medical record (EMR) skills Preferred Education and Experience: Physician Assistant with NCCPA certification and at least 2 years of recent general surgery experience in a hospital setting Nurse Practitioner with ACNP certification and demonstrated surgical experience Recent hospital-based practice, within the last 3-5 years, with no major licensing gaps Other Requirements: Valid California driver’s license and ability to travel locally as needed Willingness to comply with hospital privileging and credentialing processes, including submission of updated CVs and case logs No travel reimbursements for commuting from home to airports or lodging, but parking and rental car insurance costs are reimbursable when pre-approved Our team is dedicated to supporting your success with competitive pay packages, weekly direct deposit, comprehensive medical benefits, and ongoing support from our 24/7 team.
