Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest region, providing critical nursing care in a busy Emergency Department. This role offers the opportunity to work in a Level IV trauma designated facility with a 24/7 emergency service, Level II Cardiac Center, and Level III Stroke Center capabilities.
Job Summary Under the guidance of the Emergency Department Director, the RN delivers comprehensive nursing care using sound judgment and nursing principles. Responsibilities include medication administration, patient assessment, documentation, and assisting providers during treatments and examinations. The nurse will ensure timely and accurate execution of physician orders and maintain detailed patient care records. Key Responsibilities- Administer medications and treatments following approved nursing protocols.
- Provide accurate and timely information to healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care.
- Utilize nursing processes for patient assessment, care planning, and documentation.
- Prepare equipment and assist providers during patient treatment and examinations.
- Develop individualized care plans within 24 hours of patient admission.
- Maintain fiscal responsibility by appropriate charging of supplies and pharmacy items.
- Adhere to legal and ethical standards, including obtaining necessary consents and respecting patient privacy.
- Participate in orientation, staff meetings, and ongoing training to foster teamwork and professional development.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of one year RN experience in an emergency room setting preferred.
- Current and unrestricted nursing license in Washington State.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS (or ENPC) certifications required.
- TNCC certification required within six months of hire.
- Strong knowledge of nursing procedures and patient care principles.
- Ability to apply age-specific growth and development principles to patient care.
- Respect for patient privacy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Work Schedule This is a 0.9 FTE position with shifts from 9:00 AM to 9:30 PM, working 12-hour shifts within a 40-hour workweek.
