Principal Consultant – M&A and IE Services (Job ID: 2605018) We are seeking a Principal Consultant to join our M&A services group based in the United States. What you will do As a Principal Consultant you will play a central role in identifying opportunities and fostering strong relationships with our clients, shaping and delivering solutions on a wide range of M&A, Independent Engineering (IE) and other advisory related assignments, helping to develop the careers of other team members, and collaborating to grow our firm. Our team combines unmatched insight of the global renewable energy landscape with deep strategic, technical, and environmental expertise. In a rapidly evolving and complex environment, we serve as a trusted partner—helping clients navigate the evolving energy ecosystem with clarity and confidence. As a senior subject matter expert, you will excel in leading and delivering world‑class and value‑adding advisory services to our clients, including but not limited to technical due diligence, commercial due diligence, lender IE services, and environmental and social (ESG) due diligence. For this particular role, we are seeking someone with deep experience in Solar and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) technologies across the USA and North American markets. You will work in collaborative teams covering the pursuit of new business, leadership of project engagements, and development of our ways of working including the use of AI tools and processes. What you’ll bring A strong interest and passion for the energy transition and sustainability principles. Prior experience in the professional services industry, e.g., management consulting, engineering, or environmental consulting. Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree (e.g., Engineering, Sciences, MBA) or equivalent work experience. Six or more years of hands‑on experience in high‑performance advisory services, specifically with M&A and due diligence of renewable energy assets, portfolios, and companies. Deep experience with solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects, as well as broad knowledge of other technologies. Proficiency with industry design and simulation tools and software, including extensive use of PV Syst. Proven leadership skills and excellent organisational capabilities. Experience in developing winning proposals and solutions and managing teams of consultants to deliver complex projects under compressed timescales. Ability to create outstanding work products and client deliverables including PowerPoint decks, Word documents, Excel files, and other deliverables.
